Part Time Proof-reader

Farming Connect is a high profile, integrated project which supplies focussed training, support and advice, delivered through a pan-Wales programme of knowledge transfer activities, specialist advice and support for innovation. A key objective is to increase the emphasis on business-focused behaviour, therefore improving profitability, competitiveness and environmental performance of farm, forestry and food businesses in Wales.

Farming Connect is funded through the Rural Development Plan 2014-2023 which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.

 

Aim of the Role

Provide proof-reading services on behalf of the Farming Connect programme.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Diligently proof-read copy, ensuring any errors or queries regarding grammar, spelling, punctuation, style and/or accuracy are detected and rectified, in addition to ensuring the consistent delivery and communication of the Farming Connect brand
  • Ensure the accuracy of the programme’s publications in both English and Welsh, including materials that are distributed to the press
  • Work closely with the marketing team and the project’s translator to ensure that materials are produced accurately
  • Keep within tight deadlines
  • Accept other duties and responsibilities as required
  • Represent Menter a Busnes as required

 

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or demonstrable experience in a relevant field
  • High standard of accuracy in both English and Welsh
  • Exceptional proof-reading skills
  • Excellent IT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, e-mail and the Internet
  • Proof-reading experience
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • The ability to be proactive and drive things forward effectively
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines
  • The ability to work as an individual and as part of a team
  • Excellent bilingual communication skills (verbal and written)

 

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the Farming Connect programme
