Ways to give food-loving visitors the best possible experience will be on the menu at a forthcoming event for tourism and hospitality businesses in Mid Wales.   Open to tourism enterprises and hospitality providers across the region, the free event will give them the opportunity to meet local food and drink producers as part of a drive to increase the amount of Welsh produce offered to visitors.   To be held at Corris Craft Centre on November 13th, the Meet The Producer Event has been organised by Cywain and MWT (Mid Wales Tourism) Cymru.   Running from 10am to 2pm the event will include sampling some

An entrepreneurial Welsh farming family is continuing its diversification by opening Rhondda’s first farm shop. Grug Jones, along with her sister Caryl and brother Arwel, run Fforch Farm in the Rhondda, and after successfully launching micro-brewery Cwm Rhondda Ales three years ago, have now opened Cwm Farm Shop.   The shop stocks Welsh-only produce including eggs, milk, chutneys, chocolate, crisps, meat, and vegetables, and also boasts a café, which serves the local products on display. Chocolate-loving visitors seeking adventure in North Wales can now keep their energy levels going and send novel holiday messages with the launch of The Mountain Chocolate Company.   Through their love of all things outdoors, Phil Nelson of Anglesey and Alun Jones of Conwy became firm friends whilst both working at Plas Menai centre on the Menai Straits. “We’re round about the same age but I’m definitely wiser,” says Phil.   Despite both men sharing a passion for all of North Wales’ adventures such as surfing and mountaineering, their career backgrounds couldn’t be more different.
