Vital trade event for the South West Wales tourism and hospitality industry

South West Wales’s largest trade show for the tourism and hospitality sector will take place at Haverfordwest from 10am – 4pm on Monday 16th March 2015.


‘Supplier to Buyer’ is an annual event and is essential for anyone involved in the tourism leisure and hospitality industry. Organised by Pembrokeshire Tourism, Pembrokeshire County Council and supported by Food and Drink Wales and Visit Wales, the event invites producers, wholesalers and distributors of local produce and services across South West Wales together.


This year Food and Drink Wales and Visit Wales have arranged for two well known local chefs, who have made a name for themselves further afield to head up the Tasting Kitchen. Scott Davis of cnwd and Guy Morris of ffwd-food will be cooking up a storm using an array of local produce for delegates to taste, in addition to sharing their experiences of what produce works well in various dishes.


They’ll be joined at the event by former Editor of the AA Restaurant Guide and food broadcaster Simon Wright and Joel Wright of Wright’s Food Emporium who’ll be presenting a current trends session on the subject of ‘A World of Change in Eating Out’. Over the past few years new directions and trends have emerged in eating out in the UK and abroad, and these experts will explain what makes a successful eating place and what is actually meant by success.


Maudie Hughes, Chief Executive of Pembrokeshire Tourism said, “We are delighted to join up with Pembrokeshire County Council, Food and Drink Wales and Visit Wales in bringing together this regional trade event once again. It is a great opportunity to bring all involved in tourism, hospitality and leisure under one roof.”


Kate Morgan, Food Development Manager from Pembrokeshire County council added “There is an excellent array of producers in this region of Wales delivering first class, high quality produce. This is a great opportunity for the hospitality and retail sector to find out what products are available and where they are obtainable. It also gives suppliers the chance to get to know their buyers, the trade, as well as making new contacts to aid business expansion.”


Other event highlights include the Cywain Test Trading area and Yes/No bin where new products can be tested at market. This will be beneficial to the producer as it will enable them to gain valuable feedback on their produce and introduce new products coming to market. Another new element to the event this year will be the personalised ‘Meet the Buyer’ service allowing businesses to have a one to session with producers at the event.


Supplier to Buyer will be held at The Brithdir Hall at Withybush Showground, Haverfordwest and aims to provide all those working in the tourism industry with an exciting chance to discover new products and marketing opportunities, and be inspired by innovative ideas.


A range of producers will be attending the event from local meat producers, cheeses, drinks, sauces and confectionery to a variety of other food services and support for the Tourism and Hospitality sector.
